PACIFIC CREST

Pacific Crest Montessori asked us to produce a video designed to tug on heartstrings that would be shown immediately before the Raise The Paddle section of their fundraiser auction, a quick-earning period of their biennial affair that goes directly toward teacher development and teacher-driven initiatives.

Besides wanting to capture the essence of the student body at Pacific Crest in accordance with the guiding principles of Maria Montessori, the chairman of the school’s board threw down the gauntlet with a mandate that each student should have face time in the video.

Initially we thought a ticker of students scrolling across the bottom in the style of news or sports programming would work, but once we got to the editing stage we became inclined to think that the personality of the kids and the unique way in which we photographed them needed to take center stage to run as their own segment in the video.

The Raise The Paddle portion of the night raised over $50K+ and we’ve been told repeatedly that our film was instrumental in setting the stage for that. We also coordinated with the school to outfit them with an e-commerce photo gallery site to directly sell the student portraits we made with a substantial retail markup and automated delivery that continues to benefit the school and their development goals through sales of our portraits.
